because you want to be honest with the people you care about, you would expect them to be honest with you. The problem is that they do not see things the way you do, and probably don't even realize they're disrespecting you by being dishonest. Usually when people tell a lie it's because of their own insecurities, or to make themselves look better. Though we'd like to think they realize that we love them no matter what, that kind of insecurity is hard to get over. Telling lies to protect oneself can also become a habit that is incredibly hard for some people to break. Even though we want to take it personally when people lie to us, we shouldn't. Because it's not about us, it's about them. The only thing I can really say on our part would be not to really think about it, or pay attention. Most of the time it's something insignificant and shouldn't affect your friendship. thoughts?
