Feet dragging
Eyes sagging
You ask me how my day was
These daily exchanges are what we're made of
Your phone is ringing
His voice singing
Our eyes aren't meeting
All of your emotions fleeting
Arms are loose
You hold both bottles up in twos
Yelling yelling yelling those words
I have to stop and ask what's it for
What is it for
What is this for
The cold wind pelts closed lids
I worry if she's been fed
Everything inside is blurry
I'm worried
I'm approaching
I ask myself why all this searching
And I see my shadow on the ground
Light light light appears all around
I remember the moon doesn't ask for much
And I'm grateful that it gives to such and such and such
I have to stop thinking it's too soon, not soon enough, soon
Just look up and enjoy this beautiful moon
