Light
Today was a brilliant day. I woke up at six in the morning to report to jury duty, this was my first time doing jury duty so I wanted to make sure I made it to the courthouse on time. Biking at seven a.m. in the morning is a weird/cool experience, the air, smell, heat, cold, feeling is different. It's a nice feeling. When I arrived, they had us sit in a room for about half an hour and the whole time I was trying to read I kept dozing off and finally this woman comes out and tells us that the trial is full and the jurors have been selected so we won't have to serve at the Pomona court house BUT West Covina or El monte might need some of us. So then we spent the next half hour going over how the jury works/operates and other techinical things and she put on a fifteen minute video about why serving on a jury is a citizens duty. I'm not going to lie, the video was so corny but it actually made me feel okay with serving on a jury if I had to.
After the video was over, she showered us with great news, we were free to go back to whatever we were doing, work, school, sleep.
I had a long talk with my friend Adrien today about everything life related, maybe not everything, but we talked about a lot. He talked about his frustrations, issues, and he listened to mine and we both just listened and chimed in when appropriate. It was good.
I worked at the record store for the rest of my day. I have some pretty rad co-workers that teach me a lot. I'm glad I've been getting a bunch of hours at the record store, it's the best job I've ever had. Any job (well maybe not any job) that lets you listen to your own music is okay with me.
Today was a great day, the moon was so beautiful on the ride home. It illuminates everything in the streets, even the darkest parts that we might miss on a moonless night.
